Frequently asked questions

Quick answers, kept simple.

Search Dog is meant to stay fast and easy to use. These are the main questions people usually have before running a lookup.

How does Search Dog access work?

Search Dog currently offers limited beta access to a basic reverse phone lookup and caller ID check.

What information can Search Dog show?

When carrier data is available, Search Dog can validate a phone number and show caller ID details such as a public caller name, country, and national format.

Why does one number return a name while another does not?

Caller ID name coverage depends on carrier data availability. Some mobile, VoIP, business, recently issued, or international numbers may only return validation or country details instead of a public caller name.

Does Search Dog support international phone numbers?

Yes. Search Dog supports US and international numbers in +, 00, or 011 format.

Does Search Dog store my searches?

Search Dog does not keep permanent personal search histories. It may temporarily cache normalized lookup responses to reduce duplicate third-party requests and improve reliability.

Is there a daily limit?

Yes. Search Dog uses a small daily limit to reduce abuse and help keep the lookup tool available for normal users.
